Synopsis
A new adventure?
I arrived in Daggerhaunt with Saga, the young fighter I found in the forest south of my home near Featherstone. Shortly after arriving at the docks we witnessed lady getting bundled over by a pair of miscreants, but alas from her shouting it quickly became clear she'd had something taken from her. Saga and another group chased after the crooks, I'm not sure what possessed me to give chase, I only came here to get an explanation for the events of a few days earlier. But chase I did, at my own pace anyway, I loath running, life does not need to happen at that sort of pace these days.
Anyway, where was I? Ah yes, the chase. I was never going to catch the others, so figured I'd try and slow them down by channelling some of the power within me to grow weeds, vines and thorns out of the ground to impede their movement. This seemed to work a treat, the others caught one of those troublemakers, seems these city folk aren't used to evading plant life! The poor fellow had been cut up by plants, hit with arrows and bolts and also some form of magic blast, before Saga suddenly doubled in size and nearly beat the life out of him. Quite spectacular it was, almost as much of a spectacle as when I saw a fairy turn into a unicorn and kick a bear in the chest with his hind legs so hard it rolled backwards up a hill for hundreds of yards. Anyway, I digress. Quite spectacular indeed, I'll have to be sure to not upset Saga.
At this point a fellow I can only assume was a guard from the ship appeared, Hans was his name if I remember correctly, my memory isn't what it used to be, I still remember all the important things... ...Ah yes, well, Hans seemed somewhat relieved this chap had been caught, even if he did pass comment about the state of him. Hans restrained the poor sap and took him to a tavern named the Broken Net with us following along. It seemed odd to take him to a drinking establishment, surely the town guard's cells or similar would have been the normal course of action here? Over a drink in the tavern it started to become clear that this may not have been - shall we say - "official business", and that maybe the town guard won't be getting involved. Hans gave us some coin for our trouble, quite a lot I must say - more than I've seen in many a year, before suggesting we come back after he'd had a chance to talk to the prisoner.
Anyway, it was suggested we head to another tavern with board and food for the night, so we wandered to the Princely Sum and stopped for some well earned rest. It had been a tiring day for this old man.
