North of the barbarian settlement of Corallyn in The Frayll Wildlands, the feudal town of Blue Moon sits, nestled in the eastern foothills of the Solis Occassum mountains.

A curious place, devoid of outward defences, the town has remained unharmed by the Corallynians to the south, either by luck or by masterful diplomacy. The enchanted ore of the Miandaal mines rivals the best metals of the world, and has a curious silver sheen of the finest mythril.
—Theodorn Amarok, Of Mountain Moons and Travelling the tundra, a memoir of a travelling cartographer c.821

History

The Town of Blue Moon is a well known town throughout the world since its founding c.267 for its mining and refining of small scale local metals. Its major export is a rare metal ore that is known as Mythril, a lightweight but strong metal that is prized for its use in magical armour. Originally founded by the Amarok and Hedgeton families who left Corallyn to make their own wealth, the town organically grew around the prosperous mining operation. The town runs under a local elected leader who is normally elected in a landslide of votes - currently lead by the head of the Amarok family, Aspen Amarok. Blue Moon doesn't seem to have guards or a town watch and for some reason never needed them - when wars have been fought there combat ability often surprises their foes.

Layout

Blue Moon has its central square where you will find the churches, bar, hotel, town hall, shops, library and records office. There is also a statue of a moon and an adjustable number which counts down from 28. To the north of the town is the residential area; to the south is the refining forges and mountains make up the far side from the entrance where you will find the mines. A single track road leaves the town to the south, with a lightning struck tree marking the T-junction that sends the road westward into the mountain pass towards Volfor, and the more rutted road southwards towards Corallyn.

Taverns

The Wolf and Shepherdess is the local watering hole, with the local business comprised of the farmers and miners of the town. A small market square allows the trade of food and essentials, with a weekly cart and horses taking ore to the west towards the Free Republic of Volfor.

Markets and Merchants

The town is very well kept and provides a high quality services at a lower cost then expected. It is clear that Blue Moon is maintained by its sales of refined metals and why it does so well. The town has a few local pet stables and wolves are known to thrive in the local areas around this does make keeping livestock challenging for its citizens.
