Moreholt Forest
Moreholt Forest is the name of the vast area of woodland situated to the north of the human settlement of More in The Frayll Wildlands.
Beneath the snow-topped pines, the Moreholt is a hodgepodge of dissonance; the wildlings, the wandering outriders from Corallyn, and the almost barbourous nature of the militant druidic sect.—Rune Deve, Deve's Cartography of Osuvanne
Geography
The Moreholt extends many miles north of the human settlement of More and to the waters of Corallyn. It sidles westwards towards the foothills of the Solis Occassum mountain range. It is primarily an alpine forest of dense woodland, with natural light filtered through the dense snow during winter and the pine leaves throughout the year. It has a microclimate of almost perpetual calm, interspersed with almost unending monsoon-like blizzards. During the brief springtime, the ground is littered with snowdrops, giving the ground an almost ethereal appearance.
Settlements and Inhabitants
In such a vast area, there are many small settlements and cooperatives that exist, as well as spiritual sites inside the forest, with the major locations of interest listed below:
The druids of the Moreholt forest are known by many names, with some other druids calling them tülikad metsaringi, or troublesome druids of the forest.
The forest is home to a variety of wildlife both timid and fierce. Rumours of a boom in the population of direwolves and a silent predator known as "Whispered Death" are starting to spread from the undergrowth to the population centres outside the canopy of the trees. It is thought that there is a herd of owlbears somewhere in the gloaming, but no hunters have returned to verify these rumours.
Political importance in the Wildlands
The Druidic Clevé from Moreholt Forest is a group of druidic Loxodon which seems to have great political importance to the area.
