Synopsis

After waking up to the immolation of a humanoid figure in the farmland west of the tavern in Dwardle, Luna and Zeed investigate, douse the victim and then attempt to carry him to safety. The gentleman, a now severely burnt human calling himself Ember, self identified to the pair as an agent of The Citadel and thanked them for not letting him pass on.

Bugo, Razzy and Shadow got into a fight with some guards, shadow managed to put 3 of them to sleep, before Raziel witnessed the apparent leader of Camp Dwell dropping an illusion that made it look like the camp was on fire. After sending some soldiers to capture the members of Multiple Sarcasms, this officer of sorts seemed content to allow them to leave the barracks, especially after seeing their current strength.

Io and Berwick were happily snoozing in their twin room, only to be rudely awoken by an axeblade swinging through the door. A deft exit via the window from the bard was followed by a trapeze act on the guttering by the cleric, and the pair witnessed several soldiers ransacking the tavern and going through the groups inventory. Berwick ran off into the night, with a early morning dive into the River Dwindle his escape route.

Benjimaru, Zeed and Luna escorted Ember through the town, guiding the new ally to the cellars of the Swage, The Amahi's guildhouse in the town. Once there, EMber revealed himself to be a magical practioner of sorts, and briefed Zeed and Luna on the issues faced by the Citadel north of the border: it seems that a Lord Asper is purging Citadel members in the Free Republic of Volfor and positioning for invasion of the south. Ember has suggested that Zeed take up the mantle of "the Wings of the Citadel" and create diversions to the east, potentially drawing the magisters of The Library of Tundmatusse into the political turmoil. He finished his sermon with a warning to Luna: that at some point she may have to make a decision to end a life to save thousands.
