Luna Redmore
A fresh-faced young Artificer of The Amahi on her first adventure.
Description
If you were to look up tinkerer in a dictionary, and you had the sort of dictionary with pictures, you'd see someone like Luna. A pencil tucked behind her right ear, an inquisitive look on her dirt-smudged face.
There's no place for complexities or frivolities in her appearance, with medium-length red hair tied back into a loose pony-tail to keep it out of the way. Dressed in an equally basic and practical way, she tends to wear trousers with simple coloured shirts, but she's rarely seen without her brown apron with various tools poking out of the numerous pockets.
A silver necklace around her neck has a charm that looks like a gear wheel and a similar symbol adorns a ring on the ring finger of her right hand.
History
An apprenticed tinkerer and artificer, Luna has been working and living in Blademarket for around 3 months. She was sent here by The Amahi after finishing her training and until recently was under the tutelage of Tomanas Elborin.
After proving herself alongside a group of adventurers at being able to stop fire sprites and someone attacking the guild, she finished her apprenticeship and set out to seek fortune, glory and really cool tech!
Sparks
Her faithful mechanical owl servant. Surprisingly intelligent and with a heart of garnet - he is able to help out with numerous tasks and even has a vicious streak in combat.
Bag of Holding
Acquired during the takedown of Massander Forchantey. The bag currently contains:
- Rosewood Box (given by The Amahi to Luna, contained her commencement ring)
- Message from Dafydd to his Mother, Wintala Loramenor
- Message from Ilexandi to be delivered to Swainsboro in Dwardle. Located in the pharmacy. inTthe Quips.
- Balthazar, the stuffed toy bear, allegedly belonging to Duc Lambertine. Allows the party to contact Mephistophales Moonbeam.

Session 0
Can't believe old Tomanas sent me out to look at the well in the other workshop. Anyway, I get there and the winch is all good but there's no bucket, which is weird. I heard a sound in the street - it looks like some bird-man fell from a skyline. Clearly most have got one of the shoddy skyhooks they sell to tourists. He needed a stiff drink to help steady himself, so we wandered over to the Bellows. He had a fire whiskey and I had half an ale. I hope Tomanas isn't looking for me, I should have been back by now.
Session 1
That was an exciting night. I was just talking to my new friend, Zeed, when this young person came in looking for me. He'd been sent by Tomanas to find me, and was also looking for an apothecary, something to do with dodgy potions - not that any of our places would do that - the Guild would shut them down, or worse!
As we were talking, this elephant-man and a wounded human came in - apparently he'd been stabbed with a poison blade. We went off to find an apothecary to help heal him and as we went up the street, it looked like Potts's was on fire. There were also another 2 people around - one of them looked like a Tabaxi, a cat-person. Inside were some fire-sprites setting the place ablaze. I had a small flask of the Tasha's Acid on me for personal defense so I threw it at them, I think it hit one of them; and rushed back outside the burning building.
We heard a child and the wounded man seemed to teleport up to the window and managed to rescue him. The person with the Tabaxi then came out of the building holding a cute puppy. My new friend Zeed and I ran over to the workshop to see if we could get water from the well - I know there's no bucket, but it must be down there, they tend to float. I lowered Zeed down on the rope - he seemed to really want to go down there. He then attached the bucket to the rope and we started a bucket chain with the tenders and other people.
Sergeant Moreton turned up and seemed to think I had something to do with the fire but I'm not sure if he was joking! Apparently we're all to see the Mereton in the morning, hope we aren't in trouble. Moreton said to stay in the Bellows overnight; so I ran back and just let Tomanas know what happened, and then settled in for the evening to write this journal entry. What a crazy day!
Session 2
We were taken to the Keep today and ended up actually seeing the Duc. He asked us to investigate these fires. The rest of the people I'm with keep joking about me starting the fire, just because they heard about the workshop fire a couple of months ago.
Outside the keep there was the body of the person who tried to kill the Duc, the others investigated it, I stood back a bit, not sure about dead bodies. We then went to Rinn's as the others still wanted a healing potion, after that we headed back to the Bellows but Bugo had gone. We tried to look for him. Oh, also, it looks like the Cogglesbroom are looking after that child we rescued last night. I'm sure they'll be fine.
Ended up wandering back over to the Keep to ask if they'd seen Bugo but they hadn't. Shadow, Hrolf and Zeed then went to Blademarket; and I went to investigate a second fire at a forge with Benji and Berwick. Looks like this one was also caused by fire sprites and not me.
Also - for some reason because I know my way round this part of the city, they think I'm the leader of the group.
Session 3
We all met back up in the Bellows and Bugo was there! I helped Shadow with attempting to cure this poison with the tincture than Rinn gave us. I think it mostly worked, but I'm not sure. As we were talking about what was happening, we heard a noise outside and the guildhouse, it's.... I just can't believe it. Something happened and the clocktower is half-ruined, the skylines are down and have damaged the building. We went inside and we were asked to check the labs and ensure everyone is out - as we went past lab 3, of course it was lab 3, we heard a fire sprite! It was attacking the model of the city. We threw water on it and ended up beating it, Benji picked it up. Why would anyone attack the guild? Especially lab 3! Don't they know how dangerous it is?
Oh forgot to mention, I think the fire sprites and the attempt on the Duke's life are all related - the sign on the floor of the forge and the tattoo on the dead man were the same thing and Bugo recognised it as a sign from Frent which I think is in Sudvanne, of a group called the Citadel.
Session 4
What a weird night, but at least I'm back in my own bed.
We heard more noise above us, like fighting, so we climbed a rope onto the roof of the labs and over at the clocktower, we saw fighting. A giant 14ft high fire golem was there, and fighting him was this halfling called Tavin with a shield. He was pushed off the roof but was hanging on underneath it, so didn't die - although I had some fall-arresting powder on me if there was problem. Alongside him was also this sorcerer woman called Fleur. She had amazing dark blue hair. Finally - Tomanas was fighting! He didn't seem his usual elderly self and wasn't even using his zimmer frame, instead it became some kind of weapon. He can really fight! Apparently these people are adventurers he used to hang around with - imagine that, Tomanas, an adventurer.
Eventually we defeated the golem and on the way back through the guild building, found this large chest containing the same bronze circles we've found at the other fires and on the sprites - whoever is controlling them must have got them from the box. We took it over to the keep and gave it to Sgt at Arms Filligrand for safe-keeping and Hrolf stayed with it.
The others went back to The Bellows and I returned back to the workshop to meet Tomanas there and we had hot chocolate. I sneakily used the magic sensor on him and there's definitely some kind of glamour or something happening - I don't think he's the old man I've come to know - there's something going on.
Session 5
I met up with the others at the Rusty Bellows and we decided to head to the Meriton's Keep to see if everything was OK, when we got near, we heard shouts about a fire at the Kingsgate. It was terrible - another fire, this time a farrier's, but by the time we were there, it was all done with and the building a smoking ruin. We headed back to the Keep and spoke briefly to the Sgt-at-Arms and we were given gold coins to prove we were investigating on their behalf. After this, we returned to the burnt down Forge from the other night and investigating the symbols there, we uncovered a hidden secret drop with an encoded message and a lot of gold; along with some more poison similar to that we've found in the daggers.
We left it as we found it, and went back to the workshop to see Tomanas to check in with him and see if he might know anything useful. He was very tired and claims to not know anything useful but did warn us away from anything involving The Citadel. He was able to help us identifying the initials AF and MF that were on the box. Nickel was there, but he seemed terrified at one of the people and almost ran-away.
Session 6
A quiet night for once, but then we went to have breakfast at The Bellows with the rest of the group. Some of the group have really vivid dreams - Benji said he had visions of ash and fire. We then decided to split up and do a few things, with Zeed and I visiting Paddy in the market.

Session 7
That was an exciting evening! We had a chase, across the city and along the skywires. We thought a few more fire sprites and finally caught the person responsible for the fires, Massander Forchantey. Apparently he was doing it in revenge for guild causing his wife to leave him and join Potts, leading to her death? But we heard she'd been seen around the city. I recovered his bag which had some interesting stuff in and it doesn't seem quite right. I'm going to look at it in the morning and investigate further.
Some of the things I found in the bag I asked Bugo to take a look at as I think he might be able to help with them.
Session 8
This was a big day, a HUGE day. I can't quite believe it.
Sorry for finishing the last journal so short, we were interrupted at the table by the rest of the group returning, but Hrolf wasn't with them which was a bit odd. Anyway. I spent the night studying and learnt some interesting things. Anyway, over breakfast we heard that Martha Pureglee was having issues with her supplies due to bandits, and since apparently we solve problems now, we went to go find her to ask if we could help.
I also wanted to pick up a garnet as I have a great idea on how to use one to make a little mechanical helper - so we called in to a small pawn shop where a weird fellow managed to find one for me and a pearl for Bugo. I borrowed the pearl and used it to help me investigate this bag I found on Massander and it turns out it's a Bag of Holding; and not one of our artificer ones - an actual permanent one!
We headed over to speak to Martha and she asked us if we could help with the bandits and arranged a ship. We also got paid some money upfront! Afterwards I went to the guild building to get permission to leave the city and incorporate our adventurer group as the Multiple Sarcasms as there's many of us and we keep joking around with Shadow as he thinks fish are called Sarcasms. Anyway, Lord Morrison commissioned our group and agreed to pay us an extra 500 for sorting out the bandit issue. He also gave me a letter to take to Tomanas and a box, saying I need to ask Tomanas for permission to leave the city as I'm apprenticed to him.
So the big news - the letter was suggesting Tomanas let me go adventuring, and it turns out the box was my guild ring. I've finished my apprenticeship, although Tomanas says I have much still to learn. To think, a few days ago I was working for my master, maybe aiming to be a master artificer one day, but now apparently an adventurer? Being a skilled artisan didn't exactly pay off well for Massander, so this might be the right choice? And then there's what Zeed has introduced me to.
So tomorrow we set off on the journey, meanwhile I'm going to spend some of the night planning how this helper is going to work. Something with wings.
Session 9
After a quick visit to the Mereton's Keep and getting our adventurer group's name on the wall of the office, we went to Pureglee's warehouse and met Captain Becks and we boarded the ship to set sail for Dwardle. The first day was pretty uneventful, but when I was on watch in the early hours of the morning, we were attacked by some bandits. They were after something in the cabin of the ship, but we fought them off. However, the ship is now stuck across the river and probably needs some repairs.
Oh yes, I made an owl-like thing using the Garnet I picked up a few days ago, it's called Sparks and it's pretty good at hitting things!
Session 10
That was a hectic day. So we took off from the ship following the trail of the bandits across the countryside, we eventually hit a trail leading past a cave entrance and someone was guarding it. We made our way past him into the cave and there were more bandits and these crazy lizard creatures. Bugo ended up trying to climb on top of one, but it didn't really work. We eventually escaped them and ended up in front of a large door in a thick wall. Those lizards were terrible.
Session 11
So tired and achey right now. We made it through the door by putting blood on the side of it, it was painful. Inside was this crazy dwarven place with amazing Automotons and I think some kind of monster deep inside, but we shut the door on it. Definitely not going that way. On the other side we came across the bandits and eventually found Io, but they did end up destroying Sparks. It'll take some work to put him back together and it might take a few days, I don't even think I have enough metal to do it.
The new armour infusion worked well, the lightning seemed to work well and certainly packed a punch.
Session 14
I don't want to talk about today. I have no idea why they want me as leader, we've lost Hrolf. We've gained someone new, not sure what to think about them, but we've lost Hrolf AND we can't find Hiccup. I'm an absolute failure - why did I think we could do this? At least we made it back to the inn and seemingly gained another bag of holding or something. I gave it to Shadow as it has something to do with him/his people.
Session 15
Feeling a bit better today, I've not been able to remake Sparks as I need some supplies for it, but after chatting to Zeed for a while, I've decided to try adapting these leather bracers for making me a bit stealthier. The ship's gone, yet another failure - no idea if we'll now get paid - we killed the bandits so that's something. Ran into this weird person on the road with lots of things he claimed to be magical, not sure what I make of this magic stuff.
Anyway, we picked up what he claimed was allegedly the Duc's bear which we can contact him with and he gave us. He gave us a book of magic or something to take to the Library. He magically vanished and we continued on the road to Dwardle - can see the city in the distance. It'll be good to be in a guild town again.
Session 39
I have finally found time to rest and write up what the hell has happened. In the time since I last updated this journal, we've been blamed for inciting war, falsely accused of being traitors, lost a member of the party, regained him, but with some changes, found a magical library of magic, went underwater, travelled to another plane, travelled back, met some druids, saw a druid hanged from a tree, was sent to some crazy extra dimensional hell-hole of a deity known as Diato, fought off guardians, killer crabs, lost Zeed, and then I think we created a Beholder before fleeing through a portal.
How to even unpack all of that? With Zeed gone, I've been going through his notes and I have an idea about some of the sneaky stuff he was doing, but I've no't got a clue what it all really means yet. When we made it through the portal I was sent a note that was encoded in the way that Zeed taught me. Using the key, it reads North burned. War imminent. Evade, Await Ember, Wings. I don't know if this means I'm now the wings of the Citadel? I also seemingly am now marked with their sigil of a tower on my forearm. I'm currently using some disguise powder to cover it up.
Oh, and Tomanas might be involved in the Endeavour, where ancient Amahi known as the Obscahi were doing research on something called the Evertear. The end result being the plains of Dwardle are now Lake Dwardle. I have so many questions for him, I just hope he has answers.
