The boat itself
The group agree it's time to board the boat and there is a hive of activity on the scene. A wooden boat with an oak cabin on it, approx 70 feet in length and 17 feet wide. Two traditional looking masts help the vessel move, however the most impressive feat of the boat is the two side loaded water-wheels powered with a pair of live Oxen within. The cabin contained the usual maps and documents, including a document authorising the Sarcasms to board and protect the vessel. Looking pristine in the calm waters, the boat is being loaded with cargo in the form of vegetables - The Sarcasms collectively agree that this is an odd cargo and why are vegetables so important to protect? The boat has 3 members of crew that the Sarcasms meet.
Roberta Bex - An older lady with a tricorn hat visibly carrying a rapier - Roberta is in charge of the shipping operation.
Sanarth - A smaller podgy elf with a very prominent and lopsided smile. The appearance of Sanarth has Zeed suspicious - A deck hand of the crew
Hiccup - A mousy haired girl with eyepatch and tabby cat. Her real name is Ruth but has coined the nickname 'Hiccup' due to the amount of accidents/hiccups that happen with her work
Additionally at the dock, the Sarcasms meet Daffyd who gives some insight on what to expect at Dwardle "The dwardleford mountains/hills with strange weather with sideways snow. Valleys are cold, dense and foggy. Biting wind." He also mentions warning that there are rapids past the 'drowned man buoy' - Watch out for the golden post / buoy - The limit of rapids
Daffyd also asks the group to pass a message onto his mother Wintala "Daffyd is doing well and will send pension once the trade route is safe and re-openes"
On The River
The Sarcasms board the boat and set off towards Dwardle in the direction of a singular river that runs between the two locations. As the boat leaves dock it makes use of a well masoned dwarven built bridge with large bastions on each side as the River flows through the tall mountains.
The group goes through the process of taking it in turns to keep watch, with no Benjimaru and IO who have taken sick the group had to spread themselves thinly. Eventually on a watch with Hrolf, Shadow and Luna with thanks to some bad perception the ship, the sarcasms and it's crew are taken by suprise as a group of river bandits assault the boat.
The fight breaks out initially with Bugo, Zeed and Berwick still asleep in the cabin. Eventually the Sarcasms awake and a very vicious fight takes place knocking Hrolf unconscious and knocked off the boat. (This wasn't helped by the fact Bugo threw an ice Dagger at Hrolf in order to damage all of the bandits that had him surrounded at the time).
Bugo has an encounter in the cabin with one of the River Bandits who had rushed into the cabin and was searching the draws of the table within frantically. Bugo buys time running around the table away from the bandit. Eventually managing to stop this particular bandit who had found 'A metalic case' (a bit bigger than a glasses case and was sealed shut) from taking off with the item. The Riverbandits proclaim that they wont hurt anyone if we hand over the case. The group continues to fight as the sheer numbers of the River Bandits dwindle and eventually are retreated.
The Sarcasms are left with a damaged ship and bodies as the session draws to a close, battered and bruised - What will the Sarcasms do?

The evening after the chase before.

Synopsis

As the night closes in after the excitement of the chase, the other half of the party enter The Bellows - although they are missing Hrolf. After a short catchup, the group go to bed and in the morning, as Bugo is awake, he goes downstairs to find Hrolf eating breakdast. He has a black eye and being doted on by Lexa.

As the rest of the group come down for breakfast, Jake enters the bar is talking about some supply problems with getting fish and sarcasm supplies from Martha Pureglee, his supplier. He suggests that if the group is looking for work they might want to enquire at her warehouse.

The party leave and head north to the Cogwright bridge, an impressive feat of engineering. A lifting bridge over river with a small barge steaming through. The bridge is made out of bronze and steel with a wooden walkway. Small brass cogs are attached to the bridge, each engraved with initials, Luna is particularly proud of a small cog with 'LR' engraved on it.

Once the bridge has been lowered, the group continue through the shambles and approach a large square with a fountain. On one side of this square is a large tavern, The Drunken Alchemist. The barkeeper is putting down fresh sawdust and repairing some of the damage from the fighting the night before. Around the square are some more general shops, a provisioners and a small shop with trinkets in the window and a sign proclaiming it to be a pawnbroker of sorts.

Luna and Bugo enter the shop to enquire about some precious gems they need and are greeted by a gentlement with grey hair, electric blue waistcoast, golden glasses with a slight tint to them resting atop a hooked nose. The bushy eyebrows betray the hair is maybe dyed. He introduces himself in the third person as Godfrey Mourn, the owner of the shop. He summons his young assistant Russell and starts looking for the items that Bugo and Luna are interested in.

Reaching into various pidgeon holes, each with a cushion, a label and some kind of index to the side, he produces a few things to offer - a Harridon Tea Tray made of Jade with a gold inlay, a gold necklace with a pearl set in it - which interests Bugo. Luna is tempted by a small red garnet, sold by some princess on a path to save the world. Bugo pays 220 gold for the pair and after a quick conversation with Russel - who is studying for a history test and reading 'Abatchkan Children of Yore and their Extensive Collection of Bad Habits', they leave the store.

Borrowing the pearl from Bugo, Luna identifies the bag obtained by Forshante as being a non-artifact Bag of Holding.

Afterwords, Benji enters the store and detecting substantial amounts of magic tries to pressure Godfrey into revealing some of the secrets that this shop contains. It does not go down well and he is asked to leave.

The next stop on the shopping trip is to pick up some stationary. Bugo goes into a nearby branch of WH Smythe's and after some negotiation buys 5 sheets of arcane paper and supplies, also joining their loyalty scheme.

Once done, the group head to Pureglee's warehouse to talk to Martha Pureglee. She has a problem with bandits attacking the shipments of fish from Dwardle. She has heard of Daggerhaunt and mentions Serafine. After much discussion the party take the quest from Martha, with a 200gp upfront payment, another 800gp on completion and 50gp for each bandit returned alive, 25gp for dead bandits.

The Riverboat Cutty has been put aside for the group to use the next day to head downstream to Dwardle and if it is not returned safely, 200gp will be deducted from the reward.

Luna's Adventures

Luna heads off to The Amahi guildhouse where she sees Lord Morrison, who approves the commission of the adventuring group, Multiple Sarcasms, and states the guild will also pay 500gp on completion. He gives Luna a box and a letter to give to Tomanas as she has to ask permission to leave her master and embark outside the city.

Upon visiting Tomanas, she is released to go on the quest and he presents her with the guild ring from the box Luna gave him, she has finished her apprenticeship and while no-longer learning, is a full guild member.
