The Concurrence
As a somewhat tolerated faction of magical practitioners, The Concurrence operates in the Free Republic of Volfor and throughout the northern reaches of the continent of Osuvanne.
Description
The Concurrence is a foreign group of magical practitioners that operate outside of the mundane laws of the countries that they exist in; this has led to the persecution of most magical users in the Free Republic of Volfor and the hunting down of various wizards, wise women, and street artistes. Primarily based in The Frayll Wildlands, the faction has custody of The Library of Tundmatusse located near Dwardle. It is believed that an offshoot of the organisation is known as The Obsca and the reason this group splintered from the whole is not wholly understood.
Members of the Concurrence prefer robes of turquoise and pastel blues, with silver being an accompanying colour.
History
The Concurrence is historically an apolitical group that advises the major countries of Osuvanne on aspects of magic. The order of magic's primary base of operations is unknown: whispers of a city of magic are occasional and rare in the public domain, and the cautionary tale of the fall of Tinch remains in the minds of the popular mythos. This has led to an air of distrust between the Concurrence and the common man, and the general flow of time has diminished the importance of magic as technomancy has flourished, especially in the northern country. it is rumoured that The Amahi are just another offshoot of the original Concurrence which fractured earlier in the history of the world. Such rumours are refuted by the tinkerer's guild, whilst the Wizards of the Concurrence seem to be amused at such denials.
On magic's origins and the public perception of the common spell
The origin of magic is a contentious topic with all practitioners, from the wizards of the Concurrence, the sorcerers of The Obsca to the Tinkerers of The Amahi.
